How Merrimac International Built a Cohesive Leadership Team with Rmada United

Rmada United believes leadership isn’t just a skillset—it’s the foundation of every thriving organization. When Mary McIntyre, Founder and President of Merrimac International, came to us, she had a growing team, a bold vision, and a clear understanding that leadership development would be the key to scaling her company.

Mary’s background was impressive—ten years in finance, a decade in global executive recruiting, and the grit to purchase and lead her own firm in 2020. Merrimac International quickly became a trusted retained executive search firm serving industries from energy and manufacturing to food & beverage and mining.

But as the business grew, so did its leadership needs.

The Challenge

Mary knew firsthand the value of leadership training—she had experienced it early in her career. But while her team was talented, they hadn’t had the same exposure. She wanted them to do more than work well together; she wanted them equipped to navigate conflict, make confident decisions, and lead with intention.

That’s where we came in.

Our Approach

We began with an intensive three-day offsite–not just to teach leadership theory, but to give Mary’s team a practical, shared foundation they could apply immediately.

We focused on:

  • Foundations of Leadership – Exploring individual strengths, weaknesses, and leadership styles.
  • DISC Behavioral Assessments – Building self-awareness and improving team communication.
  • Practical Team-Building Exercises – Applying new insights in real-time scenarios.

From day one, Mary made it clear: this wasn’t about checking a training box—it was about building a leadership culture.

Going Deeper

After the offsite, several Merrimac team members joined our Leadership Cohort Program—a 6 to 9-month journey blending group learning, one-on-one coaching, and cross-industry networking.
The results were transformational. Each leader took away something unique, and because multiple team members participated, the lessons became embedded in their daily operations.

Mary shared,
